FOOD, WINE AND COFFEE ROCKETS IN CBDROBINA
Two new eateries have joined the
lineup of businesses at The Rocket, CBDRobina's iconic commercial tower, giving
its waterfront retail precinct a strong food focus.
The additions are Anatoli Kebabs,
which opened at the end of January, and a Vietnamese eatery, O-Me-Ly Bar and
Restaurant, expected to welcome its first customers at Easter.
The two new eateries join Kafiend, a
licensed cafe with funky decor, in the 14-outlet, 1800 square metre retail
precinct, which fronts Lake Lido at the base of the 16-storey tower.
The $110 million building, opposite
Robina Station and hospital at the junction of Robina Town Centre Drive and
Laver Drive, is a signature project for Robina Projects Australia which
completed another office project, CBDRobina's three-storey Campus Alpha
building, in early 2009.
The Rocket, an A-grade office tower
was completed at the end of December and is to be Gold Coast City’s premier
corporate address.
Anatoli Kebabs is operated by Dogan
and Meral Daricili and occupies an 83 square metre space on a five-year lease.
The O-Me-Ly Bar and Restaurant, will
occupy a 119 square metre space and is being opened by Linda Tran who also
operates a restaurant in Broadbeach.
The
restaurant will operate under a 3 year lease with options.
Kaffiend, which occupies an 80 square
metre space with a 50 square metre alfresco area, opened in November and is
operated by Troy Pellowe under a five-year lease.
All parties say they chose The Rocket
due to its outstanding visual appeal and quality, its prime waterfront location
close to Skilled Park stadium and Robina train station, and the fact that
CBDRobina is destined to become Gold Coast City’s premier commercial
centre.
Dogan and Meral Daricili have been
Robina residents for eight years and have witnessed the rapid growth of
CBDRobina over that time.
We know that CBDRobina will become a
large and important commercial centre and we are confident the business will do
well," said Mrs Daricili.
"The Rocket provided the
opportunity to establish an inviting outlet in a building of the highest
quality in a prime location close to the station and the Gold Coast's stunning
new sports stadium."
The Rocket outlet is the second for
the couple who have been in the business for more than 10 years on the Gold
Coast and established their first Anatoli Kebabs in the 19th Avenue Shopping
Centre at Elanora in April last year.
Before opening the Elanora outlet, now
under management, the couple worked with family members, operating kebab
outlets in the Oasis at Broadbeach and in the Coolangatta Beach House Resort.
Mrs Daricili says she and her husband
are getting to know their customers and The Rocket outlet is developing a loyal
clientele.
"We have a passion for kebabs,
which are wholesome meals, combining meat with grain and fresh salad
vegetables, and we are committed to freshness and quality," she said.
"Our offering, which at present
includes vegetarian kebabs, Mediterranean cuisine and coffee, will be extended as the business becomes
established."
Anatoli Kebabs features a striking
green and orange fitout, with orange signifying the cooking meat and green representing fresh
vegetables.
O-Me-Ly Bar and Restaurant operator
Linda Tran says The Rocket offers an outstanding venue in the Gold Coast's
premier growth centre, close to major transport and recreational facilities.
She says The Rocket restaurant, will
feature a high quality fitout and offer an a la carte menu as well as lunch
specials.
Ms Tran has many years' experience in
the food industry and has operated her
Broadbeach outlet for seven years.
"The Rocket restaurant will
feature an extensive menu of popular Vietnamese dishes, replicating the
offerings at the Broadbeach restaurant," she said.
"I see the restaurant as
increasing the choice of food available in CBDRobina and expect to develop a
regular clientele as the business becomes established."
Kafiend's fitout
features red, orange, charcoal and black and the restaurant includes stone
dry-top bars with seating as well as tables.
It opens early for breakfast with
dishes including old favourites such as bacon and eggs, and offers organic and
free-range produce and fresh fruit.
Foccacia sandwiches, melts, light
meals and specialty dishes are also on the menu.
Hylton Slater, General Manager of
Robina Projects Australia whose developments include the office buildings HQ @
Robina and Eastside, said the addition of the eateries was indicative of the
strong appeal of The Rocket precinct.
"The tower features an iconic
design, occupies a trophy waterfront site close to the Gold Coast's premier
sports ground and is also close to
Robina Town Centre, the city's leading destination shopping, dining and cinema
venue," he said.
"As such it has strong appeal to
retail businesses, which have the benefit of a clientele drawn from the passing
parade to complement that of Robina residents and the CBDRobina workforce.
"Discussions are in progress for
sale and lease of a number of commercial and retail spaces in the tower."
Other businesses in the retail
precinct include a Night Owl convenience store, and real estate agency Robina
Marketing Australia.
The Rocket provides 11,000 square
metres of office space and has basement parking for more than 400
vehicles.
Along with companion project The
Wharf, two eight-level buildings sharing 73 apartments and five ground-level
commercial spaces, it forms a fresh and appealing lifestyle precinct.
The Wharf's commercial spaces are
designed for enterprises servicing the needs of businesses in The Rocket and
other CBDRobina office buildings.
Robina Marketing Australia's Marcus
Weld, who is marketing The Rocket and The Wharf, said inquiry was strong for
retail and office space.
"The Rocket is a standout feature
of the Robina skyline and, with iconic lines and presentation complementing a
prime waterfront location, it cannot fail to impress," he said.
"Its workspaces are aesthetically
pleasing and meet the highest standards of environmental excellence.
"These qualities complement the
visual appeal and the location of the tower, stirring the interest of
corporations and professionals as well as boutique retail business
operators."
Retail precinct spaces
range from 88 square metres to 265 square metres and businesses being sought include restaurants, espresso bar, a fine
wine outlet, cafes, day spa, hair salon, beautician, real estate office,
homeware outlet, newsagent, bakery and delicatessen.
The Rocket's office spaces
range from 90 square metres to whole floorplates of 790 square metres.
The Wharf’s ground-level commercial spaces range
from 85 square metres to 175 square metres.
